Alberta athletes representing in Prague

The Canadian National Development Team raced in Veltrusy, CZE this weekend. The field was made up primarily of Czech paddlers, who brought an especially strong contingent of K1s, though an Austrian and several Kiwis also attended. Ben Hayward secured a spot on the podium on Sunday, with two solid and clean runs to place third behind Hilgert and Kubrican of Czech Republic. Paul Manning-Hunter and Pierre Levesque also had good results from the weekend - Paul finishing 8th and 4th and Pierre 5th on the first day. Kathleen Taylor had a good race on Sunday, finishing 7th with two smooth runs, while Jessica Groeneveld put up competitive times and finished high on the results board (4th and 5th), despite too many penalties on both days.

Fast in Slovakia

Congratulations to Paul Manning-Hunter for his blazing result in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia. The 60th! International Tatra Slalom was held last weekend and Paul put down a clean run to finish 10th in the final.

Alberta's Ben Hayward was nearly as fast but touches pushed him into 25th position.

The next event is in Merano, Italy. Another international event with a long history.

Well done boys! Good luck in Merano.
